UA Lions Masquerade Charity Gala Dinner 2017
What a fantastic evening at the UA Lions Masquerade Charity Gala Dinner! Held at the beautiful Hotel Grand Chancellor in Brisbane City, this was an evening full of elegance, glamour, entertainment and is surely an evening to remember.
Guests in attendance looked absolutely stunning with their beautifully crafted and creatively designed masks to fit the night’s theme. The night also featured a red carpet experience alongside the brand new BMW 5-Series and BMW X4 plus a frenzy of photographers comparable to an evening at the Oscars’.
There was a lot of fun to be had that evening. Moreso, the night was really about lending a helping hand to The Follow Your Dreams Foundation Australia which was founded by the Past International President Barry Palmer AO. The event also celebrated the changeover of Charter President John Miu to President Roy Tsang, the installation of the new Lions Club of Brisbane United Asia Business Inc Board Committee and new members. Another main aspect of the night was the twinning ceremony. This official ceremony brought together two Lions Clubs, the Lions Club of Brisbane United Asia Business Inc and Happiness Branch Shenzhen Lions Club, officiated by signing a Memorandum of Understanding in front of all those in attendance on the evening. In a harmonious effort to raise as much as possible, all funds raised on the night went towards supporting disadvantaged women and children across the globe, particularly in Australia.
Before long, the night’s formalities were underway. Hosted by two captivating Master of Ceremonies’, Dene Harris and Angelina Wu, the dynamic duo perfectly complimented each other. It was particularly important that Angelina was on hand to translate Dene’s gracious words as the UA Lions had VIP guests who had made the long journey from China for this very special occasion.
From some beautiful tunes by the Hamze family as well as the funky take on classic anthems by Anastasiya Sukhinina and her band, there was never a dull moment to be had. The beautiful Ponsawan dressed from head to toe in ‘gold’ with her 8kg head piece captured the audience with her Thai performance. Not to mention the extremely popular photobooth offering guests instant takeaway mementoes from the night.
Special thanks to all of the gold, silver and bronze sponsors; namely Suncorp, Century 21, Brisbane Racing Club Mirvac and Ascot Green, Melange Cafe, Villa World, Brisbane BMW, Ray White Toowong, Optus Newstead and Cha Kee Restaurant. We’d also like to thank the event partners; Brisbane City Council, Dene Harris, Hotel Grand Chancellor, Jaressa Estate, Orchid Wine Estates, Queensland Chinese United Council, Primetime Marketing, Spring Hill Florist, and Yong Real Estate.
